Middernag Gedagtes Sipahi Assyrian Recurve bow – STABLE CORE

The Middernag gedagtes Sipahi recurve bow is an old Assyrian design laminated recurve bow, specifically manufactured for horseback archery. There is no shelf which makes this ideal for horseback archery as the bow is completely ambidextrous.

This bow is made from Fibreglass, bamboo and American ash wood, for the grip/handle and ends of the bow. The handle and tips have an additional epoxy resin wood to provide a bit of colour and strength.

The bow is moulded and glued together with an EA40 glue.  

We prefer a light draw weight that will allow the user a very high shooting, and repetition rate with a smaller chance of muscle and shoulder injury to the user. The bow can be adapted to higher draw weights but will need a special order.

The bow comes in three sizes with two different configurations.

• Basic bow
• Intermediate bow with a stable core. The stable core provided more stability and accuracy to the bow but added an additional 10 lbs to the draw weight which is more expensive to produce.
